Getting Started
How do I install Flavor Media Folders?
Install from WordPress.org like any plugin – search "Flavor Media Folders" in Plugins → Add New, install, activate. The folder sidebar appears automatically in your Media Library.
Does it work with my existing media library?
Yes. Flavor indexes your existing media and lets you organize it into folders without changing anything on the server. All your file URLs stay the same.
Can I import folders from another plugin?
Yes. Flavor Media Folders imports folder structures from FileBird, Real Media Library, HappyFiles, CatFolders, Folders by Premio, and more. One-click migration in Media → Flavor Settings → Import.
Features
What is the Command Palette?
Press CtrlCmd+K to open a Spotlight-style search. Type any folder name and jump to it instantly. You can also run actions, toggle settings, and access Pro features – all from the keyboard.
How does Undo work?
CtrlCmd+Z reverts your last action – moving files, renaming folders, deleting. Free version has 1 undo step, Pro gives you 10 steps of history with CtrlCmd+Shift+Z to redo.
What are Smart Folders?
Virtual folders that auto-collect files by rules – file type, date, size, filename, and more. Free includes 1 Smart Folder. Pro gives unlimited Smart Folders with advanced filters.
Will my files be moved on the server?
No. Flavor organizes media files virtually using database tables. Your actual files stay in their original wp-content/uploads location. URLs and permalinks are never changed.
Compatibility
Does it work with WooCommerce?
Yes. Flavor works in the WordPress media modal, which WooCommerce uses for product images and galleries. Your folders are available when editing any product.
Is it compatible with page builders?
Yes. Flavor works through the standard WordPress media modal – compatible with Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder, WPBakery, and any theme or plugin that uses the WordPress media picker.
Does it support multisite?
Yes. Flavor works on WordPress multisite installations. Each site has its own independent folder structure.

What is the difference between Free and Pro?
Free gives you unlimited folders, drag & drop, keyboard shortcuts, command palette, undo, folder colors, 1 smart folder, auto-organize by date, duplicate scanning, and gallery folders. Pro unlocks the full experience – more colors with custom icons, deep undo/redo history, quick move (CtrlCmd+M), pin/favorite folders, manual file sort, unlimited smart folders with advanced filters, all auto-organize modes, bulk duplicate delete with auto-replace, and more. What happens if I deactivate Flavor?
Your media files are untouched. Folder data is stored in separate database tables and preserved. Reactivate later and your folders are exactly as you left them.
What does "unlimited sites" mean on the Agency plan?
Agency licenses cover up to 100 active sites at any time – for most agencies this is effectively unlimited. You install on client sites as you go, and retire old installations when projects end. If your agency genuinely runs more than 100 active sites simultaneously, reach out to [email protected] and we'll accommodate you at no extra cost. This soft cap exists only to prevent license reselling, which harms legitimate customers.
Performance & Privacy
Does it slow down my site?
No. Flavor loads only on WordPress admin media library pages. Nothing loads on your frontend. Zero impact on page speed or Core Web Vitals.
Is it GDPR compliant?
Yes. No cookies, no tracking, no data collection. All folder data stays in your WordPress database. Complete data removal on uninstall.
What PHP version is required?
PHP 8.1 or higher. Flavor uses strict types, enums, and readonly properties for maximum reliability and performance.
