Privacy Policy

Overview
Flavor Media ("we", "us") operates the Flavor Media Folders WordPress plugin and the flavormedia.dev website. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights.
What the plugin collects
By default, Flavor Media Folders sends no data to our server – folders, files, and usage stay entirely on your site. The plugin sets one first-party functional cookie (flavor_upload_folder) to remember which folder you're currently uploading into; it's never transmitted anywhere. All folder data is stored in your WordPress database only.
Flavor Media Folders can optionally send periodic environment reports (WordPress / PHP versions, feature usage counts in buckets, performance percentiles) to help prioritise what to build next. This is off by default and requires explicit opt-in inside the plugin. Site identity is stored as a non-reversible hash of the domain. For a full field-by-field breakdown, a sample payload, and opt-out instructions, see the telemetry transparency page.
Pro license validation
Flavor Media Folders Pro connects to api.flavormedia.dev for license validation. This connection sends:
- Your license key
- Your site domain
No personal data, user information, or site content is transmitted. License data is stored on our server in Germany and is not shared with third parties.
Purchases
Pro, Studio, and Agency license purchases are processed by a third-party merchant-of-record payment processor. The exact processor is disclosed on the checkout page before you pay, and each processor publishes its own privacy policy that you can review at that point.
When you buy a license, the processor collects the data required to complete the transaction and meet its legal obligations under EU and US consumer law, including:
- Full name and billing address
- Email address
- Billing country (for VAT / sales tax)
- Payment method details (card, PayPal, Apple Pay, etc.)
- IP address at the time of purchase (fraud prevention)
The processor handles and stores this data under its own privacy policy. We receive only the data needed to issue and maintain the license: your email address, order number, purchased product, license key, and site activation records. We never see or store payment card numbers.
Data storage
- Plugin data – stored in your WordPress database. Completely removed on uninstall.
- License data – stored on our server in Germany. Retained for the duration of the license.
- Telemetry data – optional and disabled by default. When enabled, hashed-identifier technical data is stored on our server in Germany and retained only as long as needed to understand product usage. Details on the telemetry transparency page.
- Website – no server-side data collection on the site itself.
Data stored on our servers is protected with industry-standard encryption at rest.
Your rights
Under GDPR and similar regulations, you have the right to:
- Access any data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your data
- Request correction of inaccurate data
The plugin does not collect personal data from you. If telemetry is enabled, the only plugin-side data on our server is the technical payload described on the telemetry transparency page – it contains no personal information. For license data, purchase data, or any access request, contact us at [email protected].
Third-party services
- Cloudflare – content delivery and network services. Privacy policy
- Merchant-of-record payment processor – identity and privacy policy disclosed at checkout.
- EU-based infrastructure provider (Germany) – license and telemetry server hosting. Provides the virtual machine; does not process data on our behalf.
Changes
This policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
